One of my most favorite things to find while thrifting is artwork. From vintage and antique paintings, sketches or prints, to cast away canvases from a budding artist, I love to find a piece that speaks to me. A gallery wall - for me - is always changing depending on the mood, season or found object screaming to be placed. I store a closet full of collected and gifted art of all types. The pictures don't need to be master pieces, prize possessions or antiques. In fact, most of mine aren't! I just have to like them! I've found some pleasing prints new, as well as have ordered digital files which I've printed and placed into found frames. I find that my taste changes and evolves over time and that's o.k.!
Sources for artwork include flea markets, auctions, thrift stores, yard sales, local galleries, and painting websites. Here is a list of places I search. (I use Marketplace and Nextdoor as well.)
There are some decent pieces on Amazon and with the right frames, you can create a more personalized and unique piece of art that suits your fancy. I also keep a supply of picture hanging helpers like Contact Strips, nails, wire and frames.
